The loss of jobs and resulting poverty caused by the Covid-19 pandemic is a story playing out in millions of homes. These worst hit families facing eviction from homes for non-payment of rent, children dropping out of schools or running away, domestic violence, child labour or poor nutrition, leaving children vulnerable to untold adversity and emotional trauma.
The pattern of the infections spread across families puts kids in a most challenging and destitute position. At I-India, everyday we are dealing with similar cases and reaching out to them and providing immediate assistance in terms of food security, protection from abuse, rehabilitation, health care and emotional support.
Further, their long term needs are also being monitored with the support of different stakeholders, district administration, CWC and government.
