I-India’s main activities are the provision of:
~an information/Child Help line for children and guardians in need
~repatriation of children to their families
~temporary and permanent shelter homes
~regular education and mainstreaming into schools and colleges.
~medical care, provision of water and sanitation
~hot nutritious meals through Annapurna kitchen
~emotional support from trained staff
~school on wheels, transitioning into formal schooling
~vocational training and paid employment
~awareness and advocacy work for children unable to voice their concerns
~empowerment of adolescent girls and mothers of street children
Our main programs are:
Child Helpline: 24 – hour, free, emergency phone outreach service for children in need of care and protection.
Rehabilitation: I-India has 4 permanent and 2 temporary open shelter homes for both homeless and orphan boys & girls.
Education: Prem-Pathshala school for rural children. Shwetaark’s street schools for street & urban children.
Healthcare: Health Centre, ambulance for health care. Daily meals through Annapurna Kitchen & Shower Bus.
Vocational Training: Training on handicraft, personal financial management, saving practices and legal & human rights.
