I-India is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation and so depends on donors for finance. The organization has little savings as it spends 95.52% of all funds donated on its programs with only 4.48% going towards administrative costs.

I-India is a registered under the Societies Act of Rajasthan as an association working for the welfare of the poor people of the state. It is registered under the Foreign Contributions Registration Act (FCRA) of 1976 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs permitting it to receive foreign donations. Domestic donations are exempted for Income Tax purposes under 80G of the Income Tax Act.
